Menu

A Keyboard Hot key is assigned to all the important menus that are frequently used.  These are listed by the relevant menu options and are also listed under Keyboard Shortcuts off the Help menu.

Main Frame Toolbar

DMC's main functions and tools are accessed from the main toolbar shown above.

Depending upon your screen size and resolution, you will see one of the two possible toolbars.  If there isn't enough room to adequately display both the wording and the icons on the buttons, then your buttons will display icons only.  Regardless of which toolbar you see, they function the same way, and both will display longer descriptions if you hover over a button with your mouse.

On the far right of the toolbar, either version, will tell you what module you are currently using.  The default is Main Module, but this will change based on what is open - Data Viewer, Transfer Merge Data, SQL Environment, etc.

Just below the main toolbar is another bar, which we refer to as the InfoBar.  This is the place that will tell you what your next step in a particular task is.  In this case it shows the steps associated with the Viewer, which is the default action when DMC opens.

The InfoBar is also where you will find the checkbox for turning on/off the Trace Log.  This log gives you detailed information about what DMC is doing as it processes your data, and so it can be very useful in helping you track down problems.

The icon to the right of the close button tells you if the Viewer is set up to display the date and time as the Clarion default of two individual columns or in SQL format (one combined column)

Lastly, the InfoBar is the location of the button that not only the closes the application, it will close whatever module you currently have open; for example, if you have the Viewer open, then the button will say Close the Viewer.

NOTE à Both of the pictures above have had "white" space removed from the middle of them so that we could show you the important details that show up on the far right of the bars; they normally extend the full width of the DMC window.
